STAGE 7: ADDING 3D ELEMENTS

Once the models are completed and textured they have to be lit in order to be rendered photo-realistically. Lights are positioned in 3D space to reproduce the effects of light coming from the fire pits, the open windows, and the ambient light flooding the exterior scenes.

As well as modelling and lighting the buildings other animated details were added to help bring the shots to life. Smoke rising from the chimneys of the melting house was rendered with a volumetric particle system which simulated the dynamics of hot rising air to create realistic movement.
