January. First issue of the journal Starye gody (Bygone Years) financed by Petr Veiner is published. The journal, particularly through the articles of Baron Nikolai Vrangel', provided a wealth of information on Russian culture of the past and campaigned for the preservation of historic monuments. The journal was published until 1916.
