November 12. The newspapers Rus', Syn otechestva and Novaia zhizn' (and subsequently the journal Zolotoe Runo) publish the declaration The Voice of Artists. It was written by Dobuzhinskii and signed by Benois, Somov and Lansere, and welcomed the revolution and urged artists to educate the masses 'in the spirit of beauty'.
